The site offers general information and a way to send a request to one independent local contractor. It does not offer, bid on or claim it can carry out basement work, and it holds no City of Chicago contractor license. It does not visit or look over homes, give prices, sign contracts or take part in any dealings with insurers. Estimates, contracts, payments, permits and warranties are agreed between you and whichever contractor you choose to hire.

The site makes no promise about any contractor's work, pricing, license, registration or insurance. Before hiring, look up the contractor with the City of Chicago Department of Buildings (312.744.3449) or with your suburb's building department, find out who will handle any plumbing or sewer work, and get a written contract before anything starts.

The site may be paid by contractors for advertising space. No homeowner is ever charged by it, and it never hands homeowners money, gifts or anything else of value.

Guides, cost ranges and tools are offered as is, for general purposes only. Figures name their source and year and can go out of date. Nothing here is legal, insurance, engineering or financial advice.

As far as the law allows, the site and its owner are not liable for losses that come from using the site, relying on its content or dealing with a contractor. Please don't misuse the site, send false requests or reuse its content commercially.

Illinois law governs these terms, and any dispute about them belongs in an Illinois court. Revised terms take effect when posted on this page.
